Cultural and turism capital : special tourists shows (like in Pigalle in Paris). We shared our time between the Peradeniya gardens, the temple of the Buddha's Tooth and shop to buy tissues, stones and souvenirs...

Mulkirigala

During a long day in Tangalle, wa added to the menu of our trip, the sight seeing of the temple. The caves are splendid : they look like the Dambulla ones.

Mulkirigala, less visited by tourists, offers something more authentic and, for photograhers, lights without neon tubes.

Turtle Conservation Project - Rekawa (close to Tangalle)

Another added stuff : we visited the sea turltes on the ground... The TCP association protects, in an area of 2 km beach long, the turtle laying and the birth of the young sea turtles. The money you give goes to the association. If you go there, you may have a chance (we did) to see the facinating show of the birth of tiny small turtles, getting out of the sand and the other made by a big 150 kg turtle laying its eggs. The visit starts at night. No light, no flash, no pictures. What a show !!!
