Tour

+ Lima - Nasca (Bus 10h)
+ Nasca - Arequipa (Bus 10h)
+ Arequipa - Puno (Train 1 night) : the train comes up close to 4000m and carriages are not warmed up.
+ Puno - Taquile (Boat 4h) : have one day on the islands, don't come back to Puno the same day
+ Taquile - Puno (Boat 4h)
+ Puno - Cusco (Bus 10h)
+ Cusco - Machu Pichu (Bus et Incas Trial 2 days) : walking not too strong and without an agency, the Incas trial can last only 2 days
+ Machu Pichu - Cusco (Train 5h) : be on the Machu Pichu site before the train arrives
+ Cusco - Arequipa (Plane 1h) : the first time, we could not rent a car for the tour we wanted, so we came back
+ Arequipa - Canyons - Coropuna - Arequipa (4x4, 4 jours)
+ Arequipa - Lima (Plane 1h)

Tours in south Peru are quite standard. Doing it this way, can make you gradually acclimatized to the high altitude.
